The body image in a teenager many times has an important role. We created this survey to investigate how important is the media role and how people face people with eating desorders.
RESULTS In our survey participated 44 persons,31 women(70,5%) and 17 men( 29,5%), aged 15-18 years old (70,5%)and most of them come from Greece. There were participants from Hungary, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Romania. Their body image is slightly important to 52,3% and very important to 47,7%. Looking deeper in their answer we found out that 17 women believe that their body image in very important to them and only 4 boys in the same category. Their own perception(77%) is the main reason for their body body image and almost half of the participants(54,5%)compare their body image to the others. The ideal body belongs to athletes(38,6%) and models(22,7%). There is a combination about diet and physical activities for better body image.52,3% use diet and 68,2% have some kinds of physical activities. Stomach with 47,7% and legs with 36,4% are the body parts which most of the participants want to change and make them look better. In the question What parts of your body you like best? most of them answered their brain(43,2%). In the question about the role of social media in body appearance, the answers are in all area from scales1-5, with 31,8% in scale 4 believe that their role is important. 50% think that there are societal prejudices against overweight people and only 5 of the participants(11,4%) had eating desorders problems once in their life.(obesity). Most of them72,7% have a positive perception about their body image and only 22,7% a negative one. the rest 9,1% have a neutral perception. |
